Attention and the Dance of Making Love
Saturday, January 20, 2007
New Mexcio Room 10:45am to 12 noon
Distilled to its essence, love is attention - attention to the miraculous fact of our being here, alive and aware, right now. This present, loving attention is our ultimate nourishment. It connects us to the truth of who we are. It draws us to each other and to the source of all being. It eases our longing for more by awakening us to the blessedness of our being together right now.
Making love is a deep sharing of presence. As we offer our attention to each other and deeply receive each other's attention, our bodies awaken. Enlivened by our attention, we dance - a dance of desiring, dissolving, savoring, cherishing, and letting go. Suffusing each other with attention, we become the presence of love itself.
In this program we will practice the art of attentiveness to our present moments together. Using movement and music, we will show how to deepen and refine our capacity to give and receive attention in this delicious dance of making love.
Goals:
To deepen and refine the capacity to give and receive attention.
Learning Objectives:
To understand that love is attention; making love is the sharing of attention
To practice sharing present attention
To identify and practice eight aspects of giving and receiving attention
