Workshop: Tantric Erogenous Zones
Saturday, January 23 - 10:45am to 12:00 pm
In Tantric sexual practice, it is crucial to extend the excitement phase. The Tantric and Ayurvedic traditions have long recognized specific zones of the body (Tantric erogenous zones, Kama Marmas) that are particularly responsive to stimulation. Some schools of Tantra developed a systematic approach to the stimulation of these zones in order to produce high states of arousal. In 1976, this system was introduced to the west by Dr. Jonn Mumford, but is still little known.
In this hands-on workshop, we will use a puja format to introduce you to these zones and the basic principles for working with them. You will have the option of interacting with many people, with a single partner, or to explore individually.
Goal: To imbue participants with an embodied knowledge of this systematic approach to building sexual energy.
Learning Objectives:
- To explain the role of prolonged arousal in Tantric sexual practice,
- To describe a traditional Tantric system for building arousal, and
- To practice the systematic stimulation of the Tantric erogenous zones.
