Zachary Miller, PhD
one of the leading international authorities on consciousness and it's relationship to ancient sacred teachings. He is a Paris-based researcher, parapsychologist, lecturer, author, and independent filmmaker. As founder and director of the Enigma Group, he has called upon his lifelong study and personal experience in examining the unexplained. The former psychotherapist and holistic health counselor has been interested in the paranormal, the supernatural, and the unexplained since earliest childhood. He is a magus and shaman and is a former member of the O.T.O. (Ordo Templi Orientis) magical order. His early interest in the brain and the mind led him to later study psychology. However, long before his work as a therapist he had a fascination for, as William James put it, "the uncharted realms of the human consciousness" which led him to look deeply at the work and life of Hindu yogis and their remarkable powers.
By the age of twelve he had set up an intensive personal meditation and prayer regime and was reading Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi. He had also begun studying ritual magick, psychic phenomena and Tae-Kwon-Do (Korean karate). Later, other interests and fields of study included Alternative Medicine, parapsychology, chaos magick, ninjitsu, isolation tanks, quantum physics, parallel times, fasting, consciousness expansion, astral projection, remote viewing, holistic health, massage, energy work, tantric yoga, brain machines, comparitive religions and more.
His DVDs include Intention, Belief, Emotion and Will; Consciousness and The Scientific Basis for Magick; Following Fulcanelli 2012; A Search for Sanctuary and The Alchemy of Consciousness.
His books include The Process and Maximizing Bioenergetic Potential.
Workshop: The Alchemy of Consciousness
Monday, March 31 - 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Alchemy is the ancient science that deals with the transformation of energy and matter. It is also an age-old path to spiritual purification and personal transformation. As part of the sacred mystical traditions reflected in both Eastern and Western cultures, alchemy pre-dates earliest Egypt.
Humankind seeks to evolve itself, to grow and to become more. The mystery schools taught ways and means to do just that. The alchemists sought the Philosopher's Stone, they searched for The One Thing, by which the world was created and with which one could perform miracles, manipulate energy and matter. They were, in fact, looking for the same thing scientist's pursue today: the theory of everything, concluding that once one found that, anything was possible including near immortality, development of a "light body" and transcendence of space and time.
In a mundane sense, some alchemists searched for a physical process to convert base metals such as lead into gold. On a spiritual level, the alchemists endeavored to purify themselves by eliminating the "base" material of the self and achieving the "gold" of enlightenment. It was Paracelsus who said, "You will transmute nothing if you have not transmuted yourself first."
In this program, you will gain knowledge regarding the connection between the evolution of consciousness, modern science and alchemy. We will explore alchemical ideas, theories, techniques and texts such as the Emerald Tablet of Hermes and others. We will look at the alchemical work of Sir Isaac Newton, Carl Jung, Nicholas Flamel, Fulcanelli and others.
Finally, we will examine all of this information in relationship to the evolution of consciousness and with regard to the year 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar and a date which some say will have a great impact on the Earth and the future evolution of humankind.
Goal: To explore the basic correlations between Alchemy, modern science and recent discoveries regarding consciousness.
Learning objectives:
• Identify basic theories regarding Alchemy,
• Explore the basic practice of Alchemy, and
• Examine how Alchemical work can aid in the development of heightened personal consciousness.
